About Us

Home-Start Greenwich is an independent charity affiliated to Home-Start UK that has been offering support and helping families with young children in the Royal Borough of Greenwich for over 25 years.

Our services are complemented by our partnership work with Royal Greenwich delivering children centre services from seven settings.

Give A Little Love

This Christmas, in a year like no other, thousands of families will struggle to put a meal on the table. That is why John Lewis and Waitrose have partnered with FareShare and Home-Start to help more than 100,000 families in need this Christmas.

What We Offer

We work with local partners and organisations to provide a wide range of services, support and information including:
  • Health advice, including Health Visiting, Midwifery, Speech and Language and others
  • Parenting and Family support. Early help with any concerns you may have about your child or other issues. Home visits are available if you would prefer to discuss something more privately.
  • Early learning and links with local registered childminders.
  • Together for Twos – Early Learning Sessions
  • Children’s Centre Teacher and support with transition to nursery or school, also ensures high quality provision in our groups.
  • Information and advice, including links with Families Information and Outreach Service
  • Services for children with additional needs
  • Support and help to move you to move back into training or work, including links with the Employment Development Manager from Royal Borough of Greenwich
  • Information and advice on Benefits and tax credits, through our partners

Our Centres are used by a very diverse community, representing different cultures, religious beliefs, disabilities and different family structures. We expect centre staff and all users to treat each other with respect and show consideration for other users and staff members at all times.

What we expect from you whilst using the Children’s Centre
  • You remain responsible for your children at all times when a crèche is not provided
  • Switch off/turn silent your mobile phones
  • Follow our Healthy Eating policy we do not encourage fizzy drinks, sweets or crisps
  • Show consideration for other users and staff members
  • Do not swear, shout or use abusive language to your child or others
  • Follow our no smacking policy and take advice from the disciplining your children leaflet
  • Do not smoke whilst on or near the premises
